1. Our Commitment
Midwest Mind & Body Healthcare is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards. We view accessibility as a central part of clinical access: if you cannot use the website, you cannot reach the care.
2. Standards We Follow
This website aims to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most widely recognized under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.
3. Measures We Take
- Semantic structure. We use proper HTML landmarks, headings, and lists so that screen readers can present pages in a logical order.
- Alternative text. Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked as such so they do not clutter the screen-reader experience.
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element on this Site is a link or a button that can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and a skip link is available at the top of each page.
- Color contrast. Body text, headings, and interactive elements are chosen to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
- Responsive and zoomable. Pages reflow and remain usable at 200% browser zoom and on small screens, without horizontal scrolling.
- Motion. Nothing on this Site auto-plays, flashes, scrolls on its own, or moves without your input. There are no carousels, no animation, and no video. The Site also honors the operating-system
prefers-reduced-motionsetting: when it is enabled, transitions and smooth scrolling are switched off. - Focus visibility. Browser default focus indicators are preserved so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
- Language. The page language is declared in the HTML so screen readers pronounce content correctly.
- Plain language. We explain treatment options in plain terms rather than clinical shorthand, and we avoid conveying information by color alone.
4. Assistive Technologies Supported
We test our pages against current versions of commonly used assistive technologies, including:
- Screen readers: NVDA and JAWS (on Windows), VoiceOver (on macOS and iOS), TalkBack (on Android).
- Modern desktop and mobile browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
- Zoom and magnification tools built into modern operating systems and browsers.
- Voice control technologies such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Voice Control on macOS/iOS.
5. Known Limitations
We work hard to keep the Site accessible, but some gaps exist. We would rather name them than let you discover them:
- Our scheduling platform. Booking is handled by Tebra, a third party we do not control. We ask vendors to remediate issues we report, but we cannot fix their interface ourselves. If booking online is a barrier for you, call us and we will schedule you by phone.
- Documents. Consent forms, good-faith estimates, and similar documents may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We will provide an accessible alternative — plain text, large print, or a read-aloud walkthrough by phone — on request and at no cost.
6. Accommodations for Care
Beyond the website, we accommodate patients with disabilities in our clinical services. This includes, at no cost to you and to the extent permitted by law:
- Scheduling by phone if the online booking tool is difficult or impossible for you to use.
- Qualified interpreters, including sign-language interpreters, for scheduled visits when requested in advance.
- Real-time captioning or written communication during video visits, on request.
- Alternative formats — large-print or plain-text copies of intake forms, consent forms, and this statement.
- Audio-only visits where clinically appropriate and permitted by state law, for patients for whom video is not workable.
- Support persons. A family member, caregiver, or legal representative may assist you, with your authorization on file.
- Extended visit time when needed to ensure effective communication.
Please tell us about any accommodation you need when you schedule, so we can arrange it in advance.
7. Nondiscrimination & Language Access
We comply with applicable federal civil-rights laws and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex — including sex characteristics, sexual orientation, gender identity, and pregnancy or related conditions. We do not exclude people or treat them differently on any of these bases.
To the extent required by law, and as a matter of practice regardless:
- Free auxiliary aids and services for people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, including qualified interpreters and written information in accessible formats.
- Free language-assistance services for people whose primary language is not English, including qualified interpreters and information written in other languages.
These services are provided at no cost to you. To request one, use the contact details in Section 8.
If you believe we have failed to provide these services or have discriminated against you, you may file a grievance with our Accessibility Coordinator, or file a civil-rights complaint directly with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, at ocrportal.hhs.gov, by mail at 200 Independence Avenue SW, Room 509F, HHH Building, Washington, DC 20201, or by phone at 1-800-368-1019 (TDD 1-800-537-7697). You are not required to come to us first, and we will not retaliate against you for filing.

Email: Info@midwestmindandbodyhealthcare.com (please describe the page and the barrier; do not include health information)
It helps if you can tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and what browser or assistive technology you were using — but please report the problem even if you do not have those details.
9. Formal Complaints
If we cannot resolve your concern informally, you may file a complaint with the United States Department of Justice, which enforces Title III of the ADA as applied to places of public accommodation, including healthcare providers. You may also contact the civil-rights office of your state's attorney general. Contacting us first is not required, but it usually produces faster results.

10. Ongoing Work
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review new pages before they go live, we audit the site periodically, and we treat user-reported barriers as high-priority fixes. If the standards above are updated or superseded (for example, when WCAG 2.2 or 3.0 becomes the generally accepted benchmark), we will update this statement and the site accordingly.
This statement applies to coloradohormoneandweightloss.com. Our practice site maintains its own statement at midwestmindandbodyhealthcare.com/accessibility-statement.
